CodeClash 2.0: the 5,000-builder bracket that ended at Google Gurugram

Most hackathons are a room, some pizza, and a Google Form. CodeClash 2.0 was a national elimination bracket.

The format

Over 5,000 builders entered; 4,776 completed registrations are on the record. The funnel was brutal on purpose:

• Idea submission. Two weeks to pitch. A few hundred teams made the cut.
• Prototype round. One day to show something that runs. 92 teams survived.
• Demonstration round. Live defence of the build in front of reviewers.
• The finale. 23 teams, in person, at Google's Gurugram office.

By the time a team reached the final stage they had shipped three times and defended their work twice. Nobody lucked into that room.

The finale

Team 7MOD3, led by Suryansh Pratap Singh, took the title. VEDA ran them close. OmniDimension and Duality AI ran sponsor tracks with their own prize pools, which meant dozens of teams shipped real integrations on those platforms in 48 hours.

That last part matters if you're a company thinking about sponsoring: your track prize isn't a logo placement, it's ninety teams stress-testing your product on a deadline.

What it proved

India doesn't lack builders. It lacks rooms worth building in. Fill a serious venue with a serious bracket and serious judges, and 5,000 people show up ready to work.
